I never knew the history of this hospital until I came across an article on Facebook. I have many fond memories of the hospital. It was in the same state of neglect as this one. And to top it off, the University of Mississippi operated its first medical school here in the academic year 1910-11. It would be interesting to hear what it was like in 1960. We are working to take back the model from the overgrowth. Hundreds of psychiatric institutions opened between the mid-1800s.
